The Volleyball team is hosting Dig Pink next week and in preparation for their big game and the other events they are holding, the girls have been working hard to get everything done. Dig Pink is a nationwide event where there are volleyball games all around the country, in honor of breast cancer awareness month. All the proceeds from these games go to The Side-Out Foundation for cancer awareness. During Dig Pink week, the volleyball players usually hold a bake sale and make gift baskets to raffle off to lucky winners. They also decorate the whole gym pink to match their pink jersey and the Pink T-shirts they sell at Champe’s Armory. All of this time lots of prep in advance which is keeping all the girls busy this week. This year’s Dig Pink Game will take place on Tuesday, October 10th in the main gym against Par View High School.
“Dig Pink is really important to me. I’ve been affected by breast cancer my whole life because of the people around me, my friends and family,” Varsity Coach Brian said. “It’s really important to me that the girls are making a difference and helping the community.”
