John Champe Golf Team Goes to Regionals

The John Champe High School Varsity Golf Team went to their regional competition on Monday, October 2nd. The golf was played at the Algonkian Golf Course in Sterling, Virginia. The golfers at our school left early in order to make it to the 1 p.m. tournament. John Champe had over five athletes make it to the regional level and they all played in the tournament. Champe did not have any state qualifiers, and this tournament will end their season. The John Champe Knights had an excellent season!

“I am proud of the work these kids put in,” coach Mike Lucchino said, “they put up a great fight.”

Grace McBride, Sports Section Editor

Grace McBride is a senior at John Champe High School, and a third year veteran of the Round Table Review Newspaper Staff. When Grace was a sophomore, there were a mere six members on staff. After a conflict with her Spanish teacher, Grace became the seventh. Some of Grace’s favorite previous pieces to write were College Football Recaps and Basketball Editorials. In Grace’s free time, she works as both a lifeguard and gym receptionist and enjoys hanging out with her friends. Grace is also a competitive cheerleader, spending lots of time at practice in and out of Champe. In the future, Grace strives to pursue law at the University of Alabama. She hopes to have a successful and productive final year as a senior and Sports Section Editor.
