The application to join the National Honor Society (NHS) for juniors and seniors is due this Sunday, October 1. The organization holds a notable name, with multiple subject-oriented national honor societies as well, like NEHS (National English Honor Society), NMHS (National Math Honor Society), and many more. The applications require a minimum 3.5 GPA and focus on extracurriculars and academics, with an emphasis on leadership. A review board looks through the applications and selects students to be a part of NHS.
“I applied to NHS because it is a great way to make connections and get opportunities to increase my resume,” junior Haniya Naseer said. “During my time in NHS, I hope to build lasting relationships and network, volunteer more, and be a better leader.”
The opportunities, experiences, and connections made through NHS are very fulfilling, and joining other honor societies that are specific to one’s interests is a great way to dive deeper into the well-known and prestigious National Honor Society organization.
