The John Champe Cross Country team had a non-invitational meet at Lightridge High School last week on Wednesday. Cross-country teams from around Loudoun, such as Heritage, Independence, and Woodgrove participated in the meet.
“I’d say that both of our teams did well,” Champe cross-country runner Nick Cravener said. “Placing third out of the six teams that participated, there’s still more room to improve.”
In the 5000-meter run, the Knights had multiple runners place in the top 10 for both the boys and girls teams. Nicholas Rini, a recognizable name for the boys’ team, placed fifth in the 5000-meter run. Both Champe teams placed third in the meet overall.
