Model Rocketry held its first interest meeting for new and returning members to join their club for the 2023-2024 school year on September 19th. Model Rocketry is a club for students interested in a STEM-based career. Specifically, careers that include the building or use of rockets. The club’s purpose is to build different types of model rockets that are required to meet specific height ranges when they are peaking. This allows for the team of students to potentially win competitions.
This year’s Model Rocketry team captain is sophomore Arush Bodla. Other members with leadership positions are sophomore Deveshwar Sudhakar, who is the team coordinator, and sophomore Neha Muralitharan, who is in charge of marketing and presentation. This year, the team is excited to be participating in Narc’s which is a national rocketry competition, and some other rocketry fairs to possibly win cash prizes and represent our school!
“I want to see people really just having fun and launching rockets,” Bodla said. “I also want to keep the club more exciting to make this school year enjoyable!”
