Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) has a policy review coming up. The policies under review are 7040, 7712, 7714, 7562 and 7628. There are two policies in specific that are most pertinent to teachers, that being Policy 7712 and Policy 7714. These policies both discuss teacher leave, with 7712 being revisions on sick leave policy, and 7714 being revisions on professional leave policy. This is especially important because teachers can submit feedback through the official LCPS website, and get it viewed by LCPS administrators. The feedback can even be implemented into the official policy.
“I think it’s a very helpful thing,” teacher Jully Park said. “Teachers all over Loudoun can submit real feedback from the effects of these policies.”
The importance of being able to receive real feedback from teachers across Loudoun is highlighted because if there are any just complaints from teachers, the board will be able to amend their policies accordingly.
