Powderpuff Sign-Ups Go Crazy

Sign-ups for the 2023 John Champe High School Powderpuff Football game got a bit chaotic on Tuesday, March 21st. Originally, the sign-ups were advertised to be first-come first-serve, with junior and senior girls to meet during ReCharge time in Mr. V´s room to sign up. Yet, many students left their classrooms early in order to ensure they got a spot on the team, leading to a massive crowd of people storming the room, and many unhappy students. Girls crowded around the sign up table and made a large mass of people in the small room. Many people who left their class when the bell rang were unable to get a spot on the team as spots had run out by the time they got there. This has led to a large upset with the way the sign-up process was handled.

¨I didn’t get a paper,¨ junior Ella Nguyen said, ¨but if I left my class earlier I might have gotten one.¨
