Students’ Thoughts On Viral “Soldier, Poet, King” Quiz

If you’ve heard of the song called ‘Soldier, Poet, King’ by The Oh Hellos, then you’ve also heard about the quiz based off of the song’s description of each role. This online personality quiz that has blown up on TikTok has three options you could end up with, and they’re pretty self explanatory as they are what the title entails. The questions range from your theoretical response in a given scenario based off three choices, to what character description fits you best. Whichever role you got is actually meant to be a reflection of your character and the stresses you deal with through life. For example, one who gets the king is supposedly one who has the pressures of the world on their shoulders and to themselves, think that duty is everything and undeniable.
Although some answers seem to be disappointing for a lot of the quiz takers. A pattern recognised is that some who expect the poet, end up getting the king. And the one who wanted to get king, ended up getting the soldier and so forth. “I think the quiz’s answers are based on assessing your personality using what answers you chose,” sophomore Sudharsna Suresh said.”In my opinion, each one represents your personality like poet means you’re creative and soldier means you’re brave.”
Some takers of this quiz say that the meanings behind each answer are much deeper than one’s hobbies or interests, some say that it goes into assessing how you feel about certain life pressures and your mindset about your duties to others which is why most agree that those who got the king feel they have duties and pressures that they owe to the world, yet cannot escape.
