Champe’s Model United Nations is like no other, filled with dedicated and hardworking students of all grades who have an interest in helping to shape the world, this club is filled with the most diligent students of them all. To give some more insight, Model UN is an extracurricular where delegates are given a country and national issue they must come up with a solution for. They must have a written solution and present their country’s issue and solution at a conference with all the other MUN’s across Loudon Country and even some other schools that receive invitations to attend a conference. These conferences offer a competitive atmosphere amongst the representatives of each school to place in the top five.
Model UN tends to be on the more academically challenging side of clubs as it takes its work very seriously, students must even dress the part when attending conferences! Such an atmosphere can be a little nerve-racking for someone completely new to MUN’s atmosphere and requirements.”It was really scary because this was my first conference and I didn’t really know how it was going to go but I got through it thankfully,” freshman Jerusha Condicopulla said. “I loved meeting new people because they have the same ideas as you and they’re really nice to new delegates.”
Model United Nations leaves their delegates with an experience of an academically challenging and competitive work atmosphere and prepares those who would like to go into fields related to political science and geography with an abundance of training and new skills that last for a lifetime.
