John Champe Varsity Football goes against Unity Reed High School this Friday, September 23, at Champe. The game starts at 7 p.m., and the student section is ready to go all out for Neon Out. Themes for football games are a way to engage the crowd and create a fun and uplifting environment, and what better way to do that than with neon colors. Regarding the football team, this is towards the middle of their season, so after practicing and working hard for months and playing in games for a few weeks, they are sure to have some fun while also playing hard and giving 100%. This game, on September 23, is exactly one week before John Champe’s Homecoming game, so the excitement and energy will start during this game, and carry on throughout the rest of next week.

Finn Ackerman, a Junior at Champe, was asked about how the energy the fans bring affects the football team’s play. Ackerman responded, “It’s great seeing all the school spirit, and the crowds’ energy motivates us. A good student section means a better chance of winning.”

On Friday, students and staff will show their school spirit by wearing their neon during the school day, and will come to the game at night ready to come out on top against Unity Reed.
