Anthony Rendon Walks Off His Former Team
On Mother’s Day Sunday, the Washington Nationals lead the Los Angeles Angels 4-2 going into the bottom half of the ninth inning. The Nationals put in their closing pitcher, Tanner Rainey, and the Angels had 8-9-1 coming up in their lineup. With two outs and runners on first and third, star two-way player Shohei Ohtani came up to the plate. Ohtani hit a two run double to tie the game up at four. Then, former National Anthony Rendon stepped up to the plate. He ripped a single to left-center field, Ohtani scored, and the Angels won 5-4.
